Why ThePMRx Exists
Independent practices navigate enterprise-grade Healthcare IT decisions without enterprise resources. Every vendor has done this hundreds of times. Most practice administrators haven't.
The information gap is not a technology problem — it's a knowledge problem. When a vendor walks into a practice for a system implementation, they bring the institutional memory of every prior engagement. The practice brings a team that's doing this for the first time.
ThePMRx exists to close that gap. To give independent practice administrators the same strategic frameworks, vocabulary, and implementation intelligence that enterprise health systems take for granted.
The Knowledge Behind It
ThePMRx is built on 27 years of Healthcare IT project management — strictly implementation and operations, never insurance, clinical, pharmacy, or benefits.
-
Misys Computer Systems (later became Athena Health) — Vendor side. Early-career Healthcare IT implementation. Built the foundation: how vendors scope, plan, and execute deployments from the inside.
-
US Oncology (acquired by McKesson → became McKesson Specialty Health) — Client side. Multi-site oncology network. Experienced the client's perspective through a major acquisition and rebranding integration. Present through the organizational and system transition.
-
SCP Health (The Schumacher Group → Schumacher Clinical Partners → SCP Health) — Client side. Each name change was the result of an acquisition. Joseph was present through multiple integrations — the people, the systems, the processes, and the organizational turbulence that comes with consolidation at scale.
That career — vendor to client, acquisition to acquisition — is the knowledge base ThePMRx publishes. Not theory. Not commentary. The actual frameworks used to navigate Healthcare IT at enterprise scale.
Who This Is For
ThePMRx is built for practice administrators and operations leaders at independent practices — people making technology decisions without a dedicated CIO or IT department.
